A Tunisian cat ended up in Germany after boarding a shipping container that took it across the Mediterranean, German outlet Deutsche Welle reported.

"The cat may have jumped on shipping container in Tunisia," a police spokesperson from Bavaria, where the cat was found, told the outlet.

According to the report, the cat was found by the employees of a German company after they heard sounds coming from the container. The employees reported it to the police and placed it in a cat carrier until it could be moved the next day.

A vet who had checked the cat said it was in good health, despite having to endure hunger and thirst on the long trip, the police spokesperson said.
