High school students in Jordan are getting ready to celebrate the long-awaited results of the official high school exams, the Tawjihi, which are set to be announced across the kingdom on Tuesday. Students need to pass these exams to graduate from school and apply for university.

Jordanians have reacted on social media with a mixture of anxiety, joy, sarcasm, and some criticism for the education minister over the delay in releasing the results.

Students are particularly worried about the results of the English exam, which they say was unjustifiably difficult this year.

Some Jordanians are concerned about the unruly incidents that sometimes accompany celebrations. They range from the destruction of public and private property to often-deadly celebratory gunfire.

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) has announced it is taking special measures in cooperation with the police, traffic departments, and other security agencies to protect life and property when the results are announced.

Besides celebratory gunfire, authorities are concerned about incidents involving fireworks, loud music disturbing residents, and revellers standing dangerously on cars as they travel in convoy.

Mais: The biggest joy in life is to see "pass" next to your name, regardless of the grades

Nisreen: Why are you in such a hurry for the results? The humiliation can wait :):):)

Bassel: [Education Minister] Thunaibat will not release the results until he makes sure all students, parents, and their relatives and friends have suffered strokes first [from waiting for too long].

Hamada: Jordan, brace yourself for the Tawjihi results!
