Juvenile refugees and asylum seekers who were granted permission to enter the UK were met with a smear campaign by British tabloids this week.
Only two groups of 14 unaccompanied children arrived in the UK this week - where their relatives await - coming from the Calais "Jungle" camp, where thousands of refugees still await their fate.
On Thursday, the children - aged between 14 and 17 - found their pictures featured on the front pages of British tabloids, who questioned their "real" age with provocative headlines.
The publications, including the Sun, the Daily Express and the Daily Mail, had rushed to hunt for pictures of the oldest-looking refugee they can find to claim the children were actually adults.
The aim was to discredit the process and call for barring the children from being settled in the UK.
But the move was met with an outcry on social media.
British politician and Labour MP Stella Creasy slammed the reporting, calling it "pathetic".
