Pro-Assad journalist Kinana Allouche has posted gruesome 'selfies of death', posing with corpses of rebel troops killed in Aleppo, as fighting intensifies in the war-torn city.

A Syrian journalist has posted images of herself on social media, grinning from ear to ear as she poses with dead rebel soldiers. It has sparked widespread condemnation.

Kinana Allouche, a reporter for the pro-regime Sama TV, uploaded the grim selfies on Wednesday, only to delete them following a harsh backlash from social media users.

"A salute to the brave Syrian Arab army which succeeded in repelling an attack from armed gangs and prevailing over their attempt to infiltrate into safe areas of western Aleppo," Allouche said on Facebook, posting images of herself beaming in front of the dead rebels and posing with regime troops.

The slain rebels were reportedly members of the Mujahedin Army, an Islamist rebel group operating in and around Aleppo city.

Syria's second city, Aleppo, has recently seen a surge in fighting that has killed at least 186 people since Friday, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Social media users lashed out at the journalist for the grisly "selfies of death", using the hashtag #KinanaAllouche.
