A video of a street cleaner helping an elderly woman cross a busy thoroughfare in the United Arab Emirates has gone viral this week, with social media users praising the Samaritan-like act of kindness.
The video was recorded by a passer-bye on a mobile phone in the Kalha neighbourhood of Sharjah and shows a man dressed in yellow, reported to be a street cleaner, offering a hand and support to the elderly lady, helping her across a street towards a waiting taxi, as passers bye go about their daily business.
The video went viral after it was uploaded to popular social media platform Instagram.
One user commented on the post: "This is humanity, this is charity", while another wrote "may God lengthen his age".
Another comment read simply that it was "nice to watch such things happen around the city".
