The deadly toxic gas attack on Khan Sheikhun in Idlib is the latest in a string of chemical attacks since the Syrian conflict began in March 2011.

Aircraft believed to be deployed by the Syrian regime or its allies used toxic gas to bomb a rebel-held town in northwestern Syria on Tuesday morning, killing at least 58 people.

Syria's opposition accused the regime of being behind the attack on Khan Sheikhun, in Idlib province, and demanded a United Nations probe.

It is the latest in a string of chemical attacks since the Syrian conflict began in March 2011.
