Home demolitions have long been used as a punishment in the West Bank and Gaza, but it is the first time they have been adopted as a matter of policy in occupied East Jerusalem.

Human rights Watch condemned the policy slamming it as a form of “collective punishment”.

Also this week, Yariv Levin a Likud party member under the orders of  Benjamin Natanyahu submitted an 8 point “counter terrorism” plan.

The plan includes expanding the Israeli policy of punitive punishment of house demolitions, revoking Israeli residency of anyone who is involved in attacks or aids them, and deport those convicted on throwing firecrackers.
