British-based human rights groups are set to hold a demonstration in London on Tuesday to protest recent Israeli massacres of Palestinian protesters in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

The groups, which include the Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Stop The War, said on Monday the protest aims to pressure the British government to take "meaningful action" against the bloody crackdown.

"For several weeks now, the UK Government has ignored the call for it to take action to hold the Israeli government to account for its premeditated killings of Palestinians," PSC Director Ben Jamal said in a statement sent to The New Arab.

"What we are witnessing today is a massacre. Whilst the Israeli Government holds ultimate responsibility for this slaughter of peaceful protestors, culpability also lies with all governments that do not take action to stop the killings,"

"We call on the UK government to press for action by the UNSC to end Israel's use of lethal force. We call upon UK Government to immediately suspend the sale of arms to Israel," he added.

The statement added that the protest will take place outside the British Prime Minister's residence on Tuesday at 17:30 (B.S.T).

The move comes after Israeli snipers killed at least 52 Palestinians and wounded over two thousand in the deadliest day of conflict since a 2014 Gaza war.

Friday's demonstrations took place as a White House delegation and Israeli officials gathered for the inauguration of the US embassy in Jerusalem.

There has already been weeks of protests and clashes along the Gaza border, with almost 100 Palestinians killed by Israeli fire there since March 30.

No Israelis have been killed or injured during the protests, which have demanded the right for Palestinians to return to their lands from which they were expelled.
