A car bomb has exploded in Benghazi at the funeral of a former senior military commander and commander of a rebel militia, media reported on Thursday.

The explosion hit near the Hawari cemetery in the eastern Libyan city, during the funeral for the former militiacommander General Khalifa al-Mismari, with Reuters reporting that at least two people were killed and three wounded.

Mismari was an assistant commander of Libya's special forces under Muammar Gaddafi, who was ousted in 2011. He later became a commander for renegade general Khalifa Haftar's Libyan National Army militia.
