Firefighters in the Iraqi-Kurdistan region managed to end an hours' long blaze at a market in Erbil on Saturday, local media have reported.

Thick smoke and flames took enguled the American Ace Hardware store in the Iraqi-Kursdistan region, which took place near the Justice Tower.

Rescue workers using a helicopter to drop water onto the fire from above, Rudaw website reported.

The blaze was fed by plastics stored in the depot, which caused the front of the ACE building collapsed.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

One fighterfighter was injured fighting the blaze, which is not under control, Rudaw reported.

Erbil is one of Iraq's most stable and fast-growing cities, and an economic hub for Iraqi-Kurdistan.
