Turkish President meets Qatari, Kuwait emirs for closed door talks
Turkey's President Erdogan has visited Kuwait to offer condolences on the death of Emir Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah before continuing to Qatar to meet with Emir Tamim bin Hamad.

Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with the leaders of Kuwait and Qatar on Wednesday for tallks behind closed doors.
Erdogan landed at Doha airport at 2.20pm local time before meeting the Qatari welcome delegation and heading to Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani's Sea Palace.
His meeting with the Qatari head of state reportedly lasted an hour.
Accompanying the Turkish leader were senior officials, including Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak, National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, and National Intelligence Organization (MIT) head Hakan Fidan.

The visit took place after Erdogan's trip to Kuwait to convey his condolences to Emir Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah over the death of his predecessor, Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah.
Erdogan's meeting with Kuwait's new ruling emir further underscores the late Sheikh Sabah's ability to navigate between regional political rivalries, with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates pitted against Iran and Qatar.
Kuwait, which enjoys friendly relations with all Gulf Coorporation Council states, is viewed as a likely leader of any future negotiations on ending the Saudi-UAE blockade of Qatar, due to its good relations with both sides.
