Occupying Israeli forces detained six Palestinians, including an elderly man, during raids across the  West Bank and East Jerusalem in the early hours of Monday.

Suliman al-Hathalin ,70, was beaten and re-arrested after Israeli forces entered Umm al-Khair village in southern Hebron.

Israeli forces broke into Ein al-Sultan camp in western Jericho and stormed a number of Palestinian homes before arresting two residents, identified as Ihab al-Kalouni and Yaqoub Abu Lawi.

In Nablus, Israeli forces used police dogs to storm a residential building complex, arresting former detainee Badr al-Rozza, who had been released from Israeli jails less than three months ago, whilst also arresting Mohammed Sawalma during raids in northern Nablus.

A Palestinian identified as Mohammed Lahlouh was also detained after his home in in Arraba town south of Jenin was raided.

On Sunday, the Palestinian Pirsoner Society (PPS) announced that Israeli forces detained at least three former Palestinian prisoners after raiding their homes.

Israeli soldiers raided the homes of Sayyaf Massad, Milad Massad, and Mohammad Arram on Saturday evening, before forcing them out of their homes in middle of the night and taking them to an unknown location.

Israeli forces also raided and searched several homes in the towns of Samu and Bani Na'im, in the southern West Bank governorate of Hebron. No one was arrested.

Israel has occupied the West Bank illegally since 1967, and commits various abuses against Palestinian civilians, human rights groups say.

More than 600,000 Israeli Jews live in settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, in constructions considered illegal under international law.

The Oslo agreement of 1995 divided the occupied West Bank into three: Area A, Area B and Area C.

Area A is under the administrative and security control of the Palestinian Authority (PA). Area B's administration is controlled by the Palestinian Authority, with Israel controlling security. Area C is under full administrative and security control of Israel.

Israel's plans to annex the West Bank have been denounced as an illegal violation of international law by world leaders as well as UN human rights chief, Michelle Bachelet.

Israel was originally supposed to begin annexing the occupied West Bank on 1 July, but the plan had been delayed - allegedly because the map to annex the territories was not ready on time.
