Turkey's Erdogan to make cabinet changes in coming days after lira plummets

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to make changes to his cabinet, a top Justice and Development Party (AKP) member was reported as saying by Turkish broadcaster NTV on Tuesday.
AKP deputy head Mahir Unal's remarks came amid sustained media speculation that the Turkish leader will carry out a full reshuffle of his government.
"When talk begins of change, inevitably when one part changes, there is a movement throughout the system," Unal said.
"With a view to 2023, not just to the party, there will be a new adjustment in the team. We will see this in the coming days," he added, referring to Turkey's next parliamentary elections.
Rumours of a reshuffle have made the rounds since last year, when Erdogan sacked the Turkish central bank's previous governor in November. The resignation of former Finance Minister Berat Albayrak, who is also Erdogan's son-in-law, seemed to strengthen the speculation.
At the time, however, Erdogan denied a reshuffle would take place.
Unal's remarks on Monday came amid renewed financial uncertainty for Turkey following the dismissal of Central Bank Governor Naci Agbal on Saturday.
Agbal's removal prompted a violent market reaction, underscoring the trust Agbal had won from investors after years of what many Western analysts view as mismanagement by Erdogan's economic teams.
