Increased Israeli violence has led to the deaths of 83 Palestinians in Gaza, where over the past three days airstrikes have struck populated areas in the besieged land strip.

In response, Hamas has launched anti-tank missiles and rockets into Israel, which has killed seven Israelis.

The culmination of the violence follows the planned forced expulsion of Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah, violence against worshippers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, and attacks by ultra-nationalist Israelis and settlers.

Israeli violence continues to ignite protests by Palestinian citizens of Israel.

In Haifa and Lod/Al-Lydd Israeli authorities yesterday announced a state of emergency and brought in feared Border Police.

There has also been an uptick in ultra-nationalist Israeli settler violence towards Palestinians.

Palestinian man was shown being lynched live on Israeli TV on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, the chief of Hamas' political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, said that the confrontation with Israel was "open-ended".

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to escalate the conflict further.

"This is just the beginning. We'll hit them like they’ve never dreamed possible," he said. On Wednesday, Netanyahu has reiterated the possibility of a ground invasion.
