Controversial Fatah strongman 'raises $12m for Gaza'
Palestinian security figure Mohammed Dahlan continues to raise funds from exile in the UAE.

A former head of security in Gaza has given a $12 million grant to the strip, a report has said.
The AP news agency reported on Thursday that the grant was credited to Mohammed Dahlan, Fatah's former head of preventative security in the enclave.
Dahlan has been accused of rights abuses while security chief in Gaza, and left after the Hamas takeover in 2007.
Dahlan has been in exile in the UAE since 2011 when Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, stormed his house in Ramallah after allegations that Dahlan had poisoned Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat.
Prominant Emirati exiles told al-Araby al-Jadeed that Dahlan, acts as an ambassador to the UAE due to his close relationship with Abu Dhabi's crown prince, Mohammed Bin Zayed.
The UAE pledged $200 million at a donor’s conference for Gaza following the 2014 war. However, World Bank report in March said that no data has yet been made available accounting for the money.
Dahlan has also been cultivating business relationships between Serbia and the UAE, including a $3 billion property deal in Belgrade and the UAE's acquisition of Serbia's flagship airline.
His wife, Jalila who describes herself as "the mother of the poor" runs an NGO, "fata", which funds activities, most recently mass weddings for Gaza Strip residents.
Earlier this month Dahlan announced on Facebook that the UAE had provided $5,000 each for the families of those killed during the Gaza war.
