A shocking number of Bangladeshi domestic workers in Saudi Arabia are victim to ongoing abuse and exploitation at the hands of their employers, with some extreme cases documented by NGOs.

A government spokesman said that the agencies that were shut down had failed to provide safeguards to the migrant workers and in some cases sent them back to their employers.
