Israeli forces committed 17 violations against Palestinian journalists across the West Bank in October, a Palestinian report said on Monday.

Israel continues to pursue and target journalists by firing live and metal bullets, tear gas, beating them, arrests, or submitting them to unfair trialsthe official Palestinian news agency WAFA news agency said in its monthly report.

"These violations come within systematic Israeli policy aimed at confiscating the truth, silencing the journalists and suppressing freedom of opinion and expression, in order to cover up its daily crimes against citizens and prevent them from being communicated to world public opinion," WAFA said.

In the last month, nine journalists were wounded by rubber bullets, tear gas canisters, severe beatings, and other attacks made by Israeli forces in various places in the West Bank.

In addition, six monitored journalists had either been arrested, detained, or had their press cards withdrawn, while two Israeli attacks on press institutions and equipment were reported.

"Channels correspondents, cameramen, producers, writers, and translators are among the journalists, either they work for local or international agencies, were subjected to the Israeli violations," the report explained.

It called on the international community to pressure Israel and its authorities to respect the human rights of the Palestinians, particularly journalists.
