A retired Major League Baseball player on Monday seemingly advocated on the kidnap and rape of Iranian women in a twisted twitter post about the escalating tensions between the US and Iran.

Aubrey Huff, an outspoken supporter of US President Donald Trump, wrote that Iranian women could be kidnapped so "we can bring them back here as they fan us and feed us grapes".

Huff wrote the post in reply to a tweet since deleted, from the account @patriarchywines:

"We should invade Iran and take their bitches. Persian girls  are hot af without the headgear and you know they know how to act right," the tweet said.

The former first San Fransisco Giants baseman replied:

"Let's get a flight over and kidnap about 10 each."

In an apparent attempt to prove his point, the World Series champion then added a photo of Malagha Jaberi, a 27-year-old Iranian-American social media influencer, as well as, according to The Daily Beast, one of the first results in a Google image search for the terms "beautiful Iranian women".

This was followed by a two increasingly bizarre tweets.

In the first, the 43-year old father explains he had made the sadistic and misogynistic comments in jest and did not condone rape.

The tweet was met with a flurry of disgust by Twitter users.

In the next tweet, he defended the longstanding Islamaphobic trope, arguing that Muslim women need 'rescuing' from oppressive socieities .

Huff, whose baseball career spanned 13 years, was also at the centre of controversy in November last year.

The former sportsman said at the time that he had been training his children to use firearms in case US Senator Bernie Sanders were to beat President Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
