Palestinian-American supermodel Bella Hadid has been featured as the cover model on the latest US issue of Vogue magazine, with whom she spoke with about her sympathies with the Palestinian people.

Bella said that the Palestinian people deserve a place that they feel is home, and condemned the Israeli government for their suppressive policies.

The interview was released just days after the magazine censored references to Palestine from an Instagram post of her sister, fellow supermodel Gigi Hadid

She also pushed back at claims, made by Israel, that she wants to see the abolition of the state of Israel.

Israel’s official Twitter account made the accusation after Bella posted a video at a demonstration in Brooklyn last May against the brutal Israeli bombing campaign in Gaza.

She said that such accusations made by Israel were deeply painful.

“I truly respect Judaism, and I think it’s a beautiful religion,” the supermodel told Vogue

“This is about a government system suppressing people. After that happened, I spent days miserable in my own thoughts, trying to write everything down. And it always just felt like I was damned if I did and damned if I didn’t,” she added.

Bella went on to explain how she empathises with the Palestinian people and their plight.

“I would never want anyone not to be able to have a place that they feel is their home. But I feel that Palestinians deserve the same. It’s a big conundrum,” Bella said.

Earlier in March, Bella’s sister, Gigi, had posted to Instagram saying that she would be donating money to help those affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine, in addition to her usual donation to people in Palestine.

“I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine,” Gigi wrote.

"At the end of the day, innocent lives pay for war- not leaders. HANDS OFF UKRAINE. HANDS OFF PALESTINE. PEACE. PEACE. PEACE," she added.

However, when the post was reported by Vogue, all mention of Palestine was removed.

The censoring of the post resulted in an immediate backlash from prominent pro-Palestine activists and Hollywood celebrities.

Speaking with Vogue, Bella also spoke of her surgery regrets, in particular, a nose job that she had when she was just 14-years-old.

“I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors,” she revealed to Vogue

“I think I would have grown into it,” she added.
