Coldplay to perform at Dubai Expo 2020 in Infinite Nights concert

British band Coldplay will perform at the Dubai Expo 2020 on 15 February, the group announced on Wednesday.
The 'Paradise' singers will play at the expo's Infinite Nights to support its Programme for People and Planet as they premier their new album 'Music Of The Spheres' in the region.
Ahead of their appearance at the event, which has a sub-theme of sustainability, the band pledged to make their upcoming tour "as sustainable... as possible" pledging to cut their direct emissions by 50 percent compared to their 2016 tour.

The concert will take place at Al-Wasl Dome - located at the heart of the world fair - which fans can attend for free if they secure tickets from 12 February. The concert will also be broadcasted live on the Dubai Expo's YouTube channel and Facebook page.
The Infinite Nights shows are a series of performances delivered by global and Arab superstars at the exposition. Previous performers include Lebanese sensations Nancy Ajram and Ragheb Alama, and American singers Alicia Keys and the Black Eyed Peas.
Other performers and artists have declined invites to perform at the expo over human rights concerns.
This includes Palestinian singer Dalal Abu Amna, who declined an invite over the UAE's ties with Israel and "persistence in ignoring the feelings and rights of the Palestinian people".
The expo has also recently stirred up controversy as a new report released by a London-based labour rights group said that the legions of workers involved face exploitation, grim conditions, and a wide range of abuses.
