Israeli forces continued violent raids across the West Bank on Thursday, with dozens of Palestinians detained in the occupied territories. Fishermen were also arrested in the waters of the besieged Gaza strip.

A total of forty Palestinians were detained in the ongoing crackdown by Israeli forces, which has seen six people killed in deadly raids this week in Nablus and Ramallah.

At least 18 Palestinians were detained in and around Hebron, including two 17-year-olds, in assaults on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning,

Nablus, a city which has been the centre of resistance against Israeli forces in recent weeks, saw two young men detained, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency.

Five Palestinians were arrested in waters north of the besieged Gaza Strip, where Israeli forces frequently shoot at and capture fishermen.

Others were detained in other villages and cities across the West Bank.

The Israeli military, which has occupied the West Bank and East Jerusalem since 1967 and continues to besiege the Gaza Strip, has launched a violent crackdown to detain and kill members of the Lions' Den armed group.

Five Palestinians were killed in an Israeli raid on Nablus on Tuesday, including two fighters from the group.

A 19-year-old Palestinian was shot dead near Ramallah later that day.

The killings have seen large-scale protests and strikes by Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza.

The Lions' Den group emerged this year following a series of Israeli raids that have killed an estimated 140 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza since last March.

Israel says it launched the raids in response to Palestinian attacks in Israeli cities.
