A Sudanese military plane has crashed while attempting to land in North Kordofan on Saturday, killing all five crew members on board.

Five crew members on board a Sudanese military plane were killed when the aircraft crashed in the state of North Kordofan on Saturday, the army confirmed.
Three army officers and two soldiers died when the military plane attempted to land in El Obied, the capital of North Kordofan.
"The aircraft has been destroyed and all five crew members martyred," it said.
Three army officers and two soldiers were on board.
The crash was caused by "technical problems," the army said.
Images depicting thick black smoke billowing from the crash site of the Soviet-era Antonov 26 – usually used in operations against rebels – quickly emerged online.
Several aircrafts from the Sudanese air force's fleet of Russian-made planes and helicopters have crashed due to technical problems in recent years.
In June 2013, a helicopter crashed in war-torn Blue Nile state killing two air force crew on board.
Just a week earlier, another aircraft fell in South Kordofan.
Sudanese authorities battling against the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) rely heavily on air power.
The government has faced fierce rebellion from the group which has managed to shoot down numerous military aircrafts in the Blue Nile and South Kordofan since 2011.
