A huge fire broke out in a Lebanon factory producing bathroom fixtures north-east of Beirut on Tuesday, killing three people and injuring two others.

Local civil defence services rushed to rescue people from the factory, situated in the town of Fanar, and contained the fire, according to Lebanese Al-Jadeed TV.

Video shared on Twitter showed the factory in flames and smoke smothering the local area. The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Eyewitnesses said that the fire broke out around 9am local time (6am GMT) on Tuesday morning and took around four hour to put out.

The Lebanese National News Agency said that the two injured people were taken to hospital.

The Lebanese Red Cross was searching the site of the fire for more bodies on Tuesday afternoon, according to local media.

The Lebanon 24 news website reported that another fire broke out in a coffee processing plant in the town of Mkalles east of Beirut on Tuesday. No casualties were reported.
