Five Palestinian teenagers as young as 13 were abducted and beaten by Israeli forces during raids on Tuesday night in various parts of the occupied West Bank.

Israeli forces assaulted four 13-year-old boys from Ras Karkar village, northwest of Ramallah and a 15-year-old in the Beit Fajjar town, south of Bethlehem after military vehicles stormed the town, according to the Palestinian Authority's Wafa news agency.

Eight Palestinian adults were also detained in raids near Nablus and Ramallah.

Soldiers also stormed into a home and vandalised it during an unwarranted search in Beit Liqya village, southwest of Ramallah.

Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are often subjected to Israeli raids and arrests as part of the illegal occupation, which began in 1967.

Israeli forces often refuse to give a reason for the arrest and can hold Palestinians for months under a time under administrative detention.
