Occupying Israeli forces on Tuesday stormed a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin  just days after the killing of a Palestinian teenager.

Israeli forces occupation stormed the camp and Jenin and surrounded a Palestinian home belonging to Al-Tubasi family in Al-Hadaf neighbourhood, claiming it to be Israeli territory.

Local sources told The New Arab's Arabic-language service Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that the storming triggered Palestinians to retaliate to defend the family.

The Israeli soldiers went on to attack the surrounding Palestinians, leaving three injured and hospitalised. One was shot in the foot and another was shot in the upper limbs and the third was beaten and left with bruises.

They withdrew from Al-Hadaf neighbourhood after they arrested a young man from the Al-Tubasi family.

Jenin in the northern West Bank has been repeatedly raided by Israeli forces since a wave of anti-Israeli attacks in late March, with many of the perpetrators coming from there.

On Saturday, a Palestinian teenager, identified as Amjad Al-Fayed, was shot dead by Israeli forces during a raid on Saturday in Jenin.

Israel has occupied the West Bank illegally since 1967, and commits various abuses against Palestinian civilians, human rights groups say.

Israeli forces and settlers routinely harass Palestinians in the occupied territories through harming and killing civilians, demolishing homes, poisoning livestock, vandalising property and other forms of violence.

More than 700,000 Jewish Israelis live in settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, in constructions considered illegal under international law.
