A Saudi millionaire property developer has been cleared of raping a teenage girl on Tuesday after claiming he "tripped and penetrated" his accuser.

Ehsan Abdulaziz was found not guilty of rape at Southwark Crown Court in London, after he was accused of attacking an 18-year-old girl who was asleep on the sofa of his London flat following a night out.

The complainant was at Abdulaziz's home with a 24-year-old friend who had sex with the property developer in his bedroom earlier in the night.

The teenager said that she woke in the early hours of the morning to find Abdulaziz on top of her and forcing himself inside her.

The court was told that upon his arrest on rape charges, Abdulaziz said that the girl "will have to prove it".

In his defence, Abdulaziz claimed that he went to check on the young girl when he slipped and fell onto the girl after she tried to seduce him.

He claimed that the girl put her hand around his head and pulled him towards her, causing him to fall on top of her.

"I'm fragile. I fell down but nothing ever happened between me and this girl, nothing ever happened," Abdulaziz told the court.

Abdulaziz's semen was found inside the girl, which he claims could have been due to his penis poking out of his underwear when he fell, following his earlier sexual activity.

Presiding Judge Martin Griffiths allowed Abdulaziz to give some evidence in private, and the jury acquitted the millionaire after just 30 minutes of deliberations.
