A Pakistani man who raped and murdered a six-year-old girl in Lahore has been given four death sentences and life imprisonment for the killing which shocked Pakistan.
Imran Ali was found guilty of kidnapping, raping and murdering Zainab Ameen by the court and sentenced to death for last month's horrific killing in the eastern city of Kasur.
Ali was given additional sentences for committing an "unnatural act", concealing the body and charged with terrorism offences.
He was also ordered to pay a 1 million rupees fine ($9,034) to the victim's family.
Amin's murder sent shockwaves through Pakistan regarding the police's handling of the case and the horrific nature of the killing. Riots and protests broke out in Kasur once details emerged.
Zainab's mother Nusrat Bibi said she wanted Ali to be put to death in public.
"I want him to be hanged publicly at the place where he took Zainab," she told reporters.
DNA samples found at the scene of Zainab's killing matched those found of other murders with police believing Ali is a serial killer responsible for eight killings.
Ali confessed to murdering five children - in addition to Zainab - and assaulting two others.
Two people were killed in riots that broke out after Zainab's murder with police stations and politicians' homes torched.
Pakistani police enforced strict security during Ali's case to prevent further unrest.
