Netflix show 'Stranger Things 4' tops most-watched list for month across MENA
Season four of Stranger Things has topped Netflix's most-watched list in countries across the Middle East and North Africa, clinching the number one spot for an average of four and half weeks across the region.

Netflix show "Stranger Things 4" has smashed audience records in the Middle East and North Africa, clinching the platform’s most-watched spot for an average of four and half weeks across countries in the region. 

The latest series of coming-of-age, sci-fi horror drama immediately jumped to number one on the streaming service's most-watched list in 83 countries after its first part premiered on 27 May. Among the 83 countries were Egypt, Morocco, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. 

Popularity for the series then showed no sign of slowing down, as viewer rankings continued to keep the Hawkins crew at number one for five weeks straight in Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Jordan and Lebanon saw the series claim its most-watched spot for four weeks, and Morocco for three weeks. 

"The final two episodes of ‘Stranger Things 4’ premiered last Friday, pulling in 301.3 million hours viewed," reported Forbes Middle East. 

In the first 28 days, the season was watched for a total of 1.2 billion hours, overtaking the previous record-breaking Netflix hit Bridgerton, the American business magazine said. 

To mark the launch of the much-anticipated series, Saudi Arabia's historic Al Ula landmark was emblazoned with images from the show. Projections appeared on 15 monuments across the world.
