After 11 days of Israeli bombardment on Gaza, nationwide protests and disruption, and continued fears of escalation, on Thursday evening Hamas and the Israeli Government agreed to an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the Israeli onslaught led to 243 deaths in Gaza (including 66 children) with the Palestinian Ministry of Health reporting 27 deaths in the West Bank. 12 Israeli were killed by Hamas rocket fire into Israel.

More than 6,000 Palestinians were injured in both the West Bank and Gaza.

Bodies of nine Palestinians, including child, recovered from debris in Gaza (Wafa News Agency)

"Rescuers Friday morning recovered the bodies of nine Palestinians, including a child, who were killed in the 11-day relentless Israeli bombardment of Gaza, according to WAFA correspondent.

He said that the Civil Defense cadres and medics pulled the body of a girl from the debris of her family house in Tal al-Hawa, south of Gaza city."

Israeli authorities detain 3 Palestinians overnight in West Bank (Wafa News Agency)

"Israeli forces Friday overnight detained at least three Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, according to local and security sources."

"They confirmed that Israeli forces rounded up the brother of a 34-year-old mother of five children who was killed by an Israeli settlers near the entrance of Kiryat Arba colonial settlement two days ago, after storming his family house in al-Jalajel area, located close to Bani Naim town, east of Hebron."
