A Saudi tennis pro triumphed two sets to nil against an Israeli rival before pulling out through a stomach bug at a global tennis competition in Kenya.

Saudi Arabia's Yara Alhogbani, 17, took on Israel's Rene Naishtut Nikishov at the Nairobi tournament, winning the first set 6–0 and the second 6–2, UAE outlet Al-Emarat Al-Youm reported on Friday.

Alhogbani was then set to play UK's Jadesola Cole in the competition's quarterfinals. However, she lost in a walkover after pulling out due to a tummy bug and elevated body temperature.

"I appreciate all the support from everyone," Alhogbani wrote on Twitter on Friday.

"You have no idea how much this means to me. InshAllah [God willing] I continue to make my country proud."

The teenage tennis up-and-comer is Saudi Arabia's youngest professional in the sport, the Saudi Gazette said.

She has played for her country on numerous occasions, including the Islamic Solidarity Games.
