Nine members of an Egyptian family were killed following a drone strike on their home in the Sinai.

The drone strike killed two women, two siblings and five children at their home in Dawar al-Ezbat, northern Sinai.

Hamdan al-Deeb, whose family were killed in the attack, had been a target of a suspected Egyptian military air strike before, when his home was destroyed in the village of al-Fitat.

Egyptian army forces had previously bombed Deeb’s home in the village of al-Fitat, forcing his family to move to a "hut", when the drone strike hit.

There have been reports of repeated drone attacks in the areas of South Zuweid and Rafah over the past 17 days that have killed nine people and injured 33.

Tribal sources also say that the army committed a massacre in the Sinai on Sunday night.

"The army arrested ten people, killed them, and threw their bodies in the area of Risan," the source told al-Araby al-Jadeed.
