Syria week Alaraby

Over four years, the Syrian revolution has claimed over 200,000 lives, touching each and every Syrian family. Death, imprisonment, fighting and fleeing have become everyday realities.

These realities have not just affected Syrians who lived within the country, but also those who live abroad.

One such family is the Alakraa family, who live in London. Most of their family in Syria were from areas that have become famous in the revolution, places such as Baba Amro and Jobar. The family has lost many, and, from London, the Alakraa's decided they had to help, in any way they could.

Al-Araby al-Jadeed met the Alakraa's as they explain what has happened to their family in Syria, and organise events to help those in need, and keep the cause of the Syrian revolution alive.
