Aboul Fattouh says there is more corruption now than under Mubarak's rule [Al-Araby]
Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh, former leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, has said Egypt may experience a new revolution.

The president of the centrist Strong Egypt Party called on the current regime to push for "real reconciliation with students and youths", and blamed it for the country's problems.

"There is more corruption now than under Hosni Mubarak's rule," Fotouh said in an interview with al-Araby al-Jadeed.

The former presidential candidate called on the regime to return to the democratic path, respect human rights and abolish exceptional laws such as the protest law, and the law setting an unlimited period for pre-trial detention.

Discussing the crisis in Sinai he said: "Discrimination, harassment and indiscriminate arrests are fuelling terrorism and pushing locals to join the Islamic State group."

We clash with the regime's ideas on political, security and economic issues, but we have not broken ties with it," he explained.
