The number of people killed in Syria's Al-Hol camp continues to rise after another resident was shot dead on Saturday

A young man was killed in Syria’s violence-ridden Al-Hol camp on Saturday.
Unidentified gunmen believed to be affiliated with the Islamic State group (IS) shot and killed Bassam Al-Sawadi, originally from a village in the Deir az-Zour province, reported The New Arab’s sister site Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.
No further details were given on the incident.
Murders are extremely common at Al-Hol, where human rights groups have condemned conditions at the camp as inhumane.
At least 100 people were killed there in 18 months, the UN said last month.

Al-Hol camp is home to around 56,000 people, mostly women and children related to IS fighters or refugees fleeing the atrocities the extremist group committed when it controlled parts of Iraq and Syria.
Iraqis make up the biggest contingent of residents at the camp by nationality, numbering almost 30,000.
It is under the control of Kurdish-led authorities of northeast Syria.
Although IS was declared defeated, it still wages a low-level insurgency in Iraq and frequently carries out attacks in Syria.
