An Egyptian hijabi singer has gone viral for featuring in a promotional video for the Spanish football league La Liga.

Tasneem Elaidy can be seen singing in a promotional video for the Spanish top flight’s latest ball model for the 2022/2023 football season, which has already garnered millions of views on Instagram and TikTok.

The song, called "Meen Yatahada" - which translates to "Who Challenges" in Arabic - also features the French hip-hop group Arsenik and Sudanese rapper Dafencii. The TikTok star sings her verses in English and Spanish.

"It was such an honor being a part of La Liga’s new football launch," she wrote in the caption of the post in which she shared the video.

The singer posted a follow-up clip on Instagram exhibiting behind-the-scenes footage, in which she is seen recording and discussing the song with its producers.

Elaidy went viral on the video-sharing app last year for covering the song "Astronaut in the Ocean" by Australian rapper Masked Wolf. The song was originally released in 2019, but experienced a surge in popularity in charts across the globe following a re-release.

Elaidy, who is based in Egypt's capital and studies music performance and sound engineering at the American University in Cairo, according to local media, has regularly been posting song covers on her social media accounts since 2018.

Her videos, which have amassed millions of views, feature covers of well-known songs by artists such as Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, and The Weeknd.

She has also released an extended play, titled "Blue Shirt", containing three original songs.
