Five members of the same family have been killed in southern Idlib after a fierce Syrian regime and Russian bombardment of the opposition province on Thursday.

Three children, their mother, and another child were killed in the strikes by regime and Russian forces on  Balshun village in Jabal Al-Zawiya, south Idlib, according to The White Helmets.

A child and youth were also injured when the village was targeted with artillery and laser-guided missiles.

It took the civil defence team three hours to dig the bodies out from the rubble due to the area being monitored by reconnaissance aircraft.

Russia has carried out double-tap strikes on opposition areas, according to video evidence, which appears intended to kill emergency rescue workers.
