Israeli occupation forces raided a family home in the village of Qilqis, south of Hebron, and savagely beat a young Palestinian man, inflicting critical injuries that lead him to be hospitalised, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

The Israeli soldiers raided Abdessalem Salhab’s home late on Saturday and attacked the occupants, in particular Abdessalem's son, Ahmad.

After beating the young Palestinian, he was taken taken away by the soldiers.

Ahmad’s family was later told that he had been moved to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, due to the critical nature of his injures, which he sustained during the arrest.

Witnesses to the raid told WAFA that occupation forces stormed the houses of the Salhab family in the middle of the night, adding that other relatives of the same family were also assaulted by the soldiers.

Video captured at the time shows multiple people being stretchered out of the home by paramedics and placed into the back of ambulances.

As the beating of Ahmad Salhab occurred, occupation forces were conducting numerous other arrests across the West Bank, including in the city of Ramallah.

Earlier in the day, Israeli forces had shot and killed a Palestinian man in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the man was shot in the head, and died from his injuries.

Israeli occupation forces frequently raid the houses of Palestinian families in the middle of the night, to conduct searches or arrests.
