Israeli forces detain at least 13 Palestinians in violent West Bank sweep

Israeli forces detained at least 13 Palestinians and shot two others during raids across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday.

Raids took place around the West Bank cities of Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, Bethlehem, Hebron and Jerusalem, local and security sources told Palestinian Authority's news agency, WAFA.

Israeli forces arrested two Palestinians after breaking into the houses of their families in the Ramallah city neighbourhood of Al-Tireh and two others, including a former prisoner, after ransacking their houses in Al-Mazra'a Al-Qibliya, north of Ramallah.

Two others were detained in the town of Burqa, north of Nablus city.

A Palestinian from Qabatiya town, south of Jenin city, was detained at a military checkpoint at the entrance of Ti'anik village.

In Jerusalem, special Israeli forces arrested a Palestinian from Biddu town, northwest of the city. 

Israeli police detained two others in the district; one man from his house in Batn al-Hawa and another from Al-Bustan in the neighbourhood of Silwan.

Occupying forces stormed Al-Jib village in the Jerusalem district and ransacked a house, but did not detain anyone.

Bethlehem district, Israeli forces raided Dheisheh refugee camp and detained a man after storming his parents’ house.

During the arrest, soldiers shot two Palestinian teenagers in the foot when they tried to stop them from taking the man being arrested away.

In Hebron, two were detained after raids took place in Idna town and al-Fawwar refugee camp, west and south of Hebron city.
