A Palestinian was shot dead on Friday during a clash with Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank village of Sinjil, northeast of Ramallah, the Palestinian health ministry said.

Nashat Asfour, 33, was the third Palestinian killed by Israeli forces on Friday.

The first tried to run down Israeli police and soldiers near the West Bank village of Silwad and was shot in the attempt, police said.

The second was killed by army fire in clashes along the Gaza border.

Israeli forces or armed civilians have killed at least 117 Palestinians since October, 69 have been described by authorities as 'assailants'.

Nineteen Israelis and a US civilians have been killed in stabbings, shootings and car-rammings by Palestinians.

Violence has errupted largely due to the collapse of US-sponsored peace talks in 2014, and Palestinian's anger at a growth of Jewish settlements deemed illegal under international law.

In late SeptemberIsraeli forces clashed with Palestinian protesters at Jerusalem's al-Aqsa mosque. Palestinians said they feared increasing visits by Jewish groups to the holy compound were eroding Muslim religious control there.

Al-Aqsa mosque compound is revered by Muslims as Islam's third holiest site and by Jews as the location of two destroyed biblical-era temples.
