Israeli PM receives official invite to make first post-normalisation visit to UAE
The Israeli government announced on Tuesday that Prime Minister Naftali Bennett received an official invitation to visit the United Arab Emirates. The trip would be the first made by an Israeli premier to the UAE since the two countries normalised ties last year.
UAE ambassador to Israel, Mohamed Al Khaja gave Bennett the official invite from Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince in the presence of Bahrain's ambassador to Israel, Khaled Yousif al-Jalahma.
The three reportedly discussed "strengthening regional cooperation." The two Gulf states established diplomatic ties with Israel last year as part of a deal known as the Abraham Accords.

Israel opened its embassy in Abu Dhabi in January this year, and the UAE opened its diplomatic mission in Tel Aviv in July.
The two countries have been quick to boost security and economic cooperation.
Former Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was supposed to be the first premier to visit the UAE following the signing of the deal, but the visit was delayed four times, for reasons including Covid-19 flight restrictions.
