Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri was received in Tunisia with a glamorous celebration after he switched allegiance from France.

The budding star, who has been compared to legends such as David Beckham, Bryan Robson, and Roy Keane, was received in Tunisia with a feast to celebrate his newfound allegiance.

The French-born 18-year-old decided to commit to playing for Tunisia at a senior level, which bodes well for the North African country.

The ceremony built up anticipation and culminated with a large strobe light show which featured bursts of flames.

Mejbri was born in France and played for the Manchester United youth team.

Tunisia called on him to join matches against DR Congo, Algeria and Mali after he played for France Under-16s and U-17s.

Mejbri came on as a sub for his Manchester United debut in the 2-1 win at Wolves, which took place on the final day of the Premier League season.

He was also the recipient of United's U-23 Player of the Year award.
