A Spanish woman launched an online campaign to find a Moroccan driver who saved her daughter and her friends' lives after their car burst into flames.

The driver - who was named by Spanish media outlets as Moad Al-Hashi of Tangier  - helped the teenage passengers get out of a burning car that was parked on the side of a highway near the Spanish city of Malaga.

One of the girl's mothers, Ana Bejerano Alcanta, posted several videos on social media thanking the driver and calling him an "angel".

Police said that her daughter and friend would have likely died if he hadn't rescued them.

"He's a Muslim man, and I just want to tell him he's an angel to my daughter and her friend… this man saw what had happened, stopped his truck, and crossed the highway with a fire extinguisher to offer help," Alcanta said.

"I wish I could meet you and thank you in person for what you have done for my daughter."

In her appeal to find the driver - which has received over 600,000 views on TikTok - the mother explained that her daughter Inoue was returning from her home when smoke began to seep out of the car.

She added that not only did the driver save the girls' lives, but he removed valuable items from the car too.

"Thank you for trying to put out the fire. You took things out of the car without having to, because they were material things, but you took care of them," she said.
