President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in New York to mark the 75th anniversary of the Nakba - the mass displacement of the Palestinians in 1948.
During his visit, Abbas will deliver a significant keynote speech at the United Nations headquarters on Monday to mark Nakba Day.
The day commemorates the tragic events of May 1948 when countless Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their homes by invading Zionist militias.
In alignment with these commemorative efforts, the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) has announced its plans to honour the 75th anniversary of the Nakba at the UN Headquarters in New York on May 15.
Abbas was accompanied by a Palestinian delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister Ziyad Abu Amr, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad Al-Maliki, Chief Justice of Palestine Mahmoud Al-Habbash, Advisor to the President for Diplomatic Affairs Majdi Al-Khalidi, General Supervisor of Official Media Minister Ahmed Assaf, and the Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations Ambassador Riyad Mansour.
This significant visit serves as a poignant reminder of the historical injustice suffered by the Palestinian people and reaffirms their commitment to seeking recognition and justice on the international stage.
