One Palestinian teenager was killed, and more were wounded on Monday when Israeli forces raided the occupied West Bank.

Mustafa Abu Shalbak, 16, was killed after being shot by Israeli forces in the neck and chest in Ramallah, the Palestinian health ministry said.

Abu Shalbak, who lived in the Qalandia refugee camp north of Ramallah, was injured during confrontations with Israeli forces near Al-Am’ari camp south of the city.

Another three were reportedly injured, and a number of Palestinians were detained.

Witnesses said an Israeli army force stormed Al-Am’ari camp at dawn on Monday, confiscated a vehicle and raided several homes.

One Israeli soldier was injured during clashes with Palestinian fighters in the camp before her military unit withdrew, according to Anadolu Agency.

The teenager’s death on Monday raises the number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank to 420 since October 7, according to the West Bank’s health ministry.

There has been an unprecedented uptick in deadly Israeli military raids throughout the occupied West Bank since October 7, though such raids were even intensifying before Israel's war on Gaza, along with the expansion of illegal settlements.

Settler attacks against Palestinian communities in the West Bank have also never been higher, prompting Israel's American and European allies to sanction Israeli settlers involved in attacks against Palestinians.
