While speaking at a climate protest in Amsterdam on Sunday, climate activist Greta Thunberg was interrupted on stage when a man snatched her microphone just as she started talking about the importance of climate justice on occupied land.

Moments before the incident, Thunberg invited a Palestinian and an Afghan woman to speak to the crows of tens of thousands following a march through the city that called for more action to tackle the climate emergency.

"As a climate justice movement, we have to listen to the voices of those who are being oppressed and those who are fighting for freedom and for justice. Otherwise, there can be no climate justice without international solidarity," Thunberg, a keffiyeh wrapped around her neck, said after the women had spoken.

It was around this moment that the man came onto the stage and snatched the microphone, telling her: "I have come here for a climate demonstration, not a political view."

He was quickly ushered off the stage. The Swedish activist then joined in with chants from the crowd of "No climate justice on occupied land", and "ceasefire now".
