Iconic British actress Miriam Margolyes, who also holds Australian citizenship, recorded a video message in which she urged fellow Jews to "shout, beg, scream" for a ceasefire in Gaza. The video, first posted by the Jewish Council of Australia, was posted over the weekend and has since gone viral. Margolyes, known for her roles in the Harry Potter films and Call the Midwife TV series, has long been a vocal critic of Israel.

Last October, she was among hundreds of signatories of an open letter - also signed by Charles Dance, Maxine Peake, Tilda Swinton and Steve Coogan - that accused the UK government of ‘aiding and abetting’ Israel’s alleged ‘war crimes’ and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
