With Ramadan coming to an end, thousands of Palestinians in Gaza performed Eid al-Fitr prayers beside the rubble of destroyed mosques, and under the rain.

Families visited the graves of loved ones who were killed during the last six months of Israel's relentless war on the coastal enclave, which many have dubbed a genocide due to the immense death toll of over 33,000.

Many Palestinians also insisted on showing resilience by practicing the traditions of wearing new clothes and making Eid sweets with whatever ingredients were available. Meanwhile, 60,000 Palestinians participated in Eid al-Fitr prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem, despite the somber mood and heightened Israeli police presence.
