Large protests in solidarity with Gaza erupted in major Arab cities over the weekend, including Amman, Baghdad, Cairo, Tangier and Casablanca. Protesters chanted songs in solidarity with Palestinian resistance and against normalisation with Israel, as well as calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

In Amman, where many people are of Palestinian descent, over 2,000 demonstrators gathered and clashed with riot police officers as they tried to march towards the Israeli embassy in protest. Meanwhile, in Egypt, where the right to protest has been severely restricted by the state, protesters gathered at the Press Syndicate in Cairo and condemned the government's complicity in the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
