A German influencer has claimed that she was ejected from a Dubai mall because she was "too sexy”.

Emmy Russ, a reality TV star who boasts 188,000 followers on Instagram, said she was shopping when security guards at the mall approached her and told her that her outfit was inappropriate.

“Suddenly a security employee came up completely out of breath and said I was too sexy, and I couldn't walk around like that,” Russ, 22, told her followers earlier this month.

“They threatened me with the police. I was thrown outside and I received a written warning.”

German newspaper Bild reported that the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant was wearing a cropped glitter top and a miniskirt.

The model explained that she chose her outfit to match the 41 degree heat, forecast for Dubai that day.

Russ was reportedly handed a black policy card by staff at the Dubai mall, which asked her to “Please wear respectful clothing”.

Still wanting to continue her shopping trip, the German influencer swiftly purchased a long t-shirt to put over her outfit.

The German celebrity was initially enamoured with the Emirati city.

“Great country, so much luxury, everything in gold, it is as if made for me,” she said.

Her experience at the shopping mall left her confused.

“According to my standards, I didn't think my outfit was too sexy. When I entered the country, a policeman even flirted with me at the airport,” Russ said.

Though known for glitz and glamour, the UAE remains a conservative state, with strict laws regarding moralities and harsh punishments for those deemed to have caused offence.

Russ has previously had clothes related run-ins with the police.

In 2020, she achieved notoriety when she was taken in by Hamburg police after posing on the bonnet of a police car in a miniskirt.

The police claimed that the model had left a dent in the car, but later chose not to press charges.
